IronCAD Sponsors Europe’s Fastest Top Methanol Drag Racer

ATLANTA, GA. January 12, 2007 – IronCAD today announced it will sponsor American Car Imports Racing, Europe’s fastest top methanol drag racing team. Designers will use IronCAD to create custom parts, enhancing the dragster's performance in hopes of setting new Federation Internationale De L’Automobile (FIA) records for top methanol drag racing.

American Car Imports Racing already holds an FIA quarter-mile record of 5.422 seconds. Their exceptional performance has given them first place FIA victories every year since 2003.

“Drag racing is a highly regulated competition where custom-built parts give teams an edge by allowing engineers to maximize dragster performance. We hope IronCAD will increase our chances of a record-breaking fifth championship win,” said Dave Wilson, driver for American Car Imports Racing. “Leanders Brothers Racing has experienced great success with IronCAD, which lead us to the program's implementation within our racing team. IronCAD is becoming a staple of the European racing circuit. Many teams throughout the FIA use it regularly,” he continued.

Leanders Brothers Racing currently holds the record for fastest European top methanol funny car. With the addition of American Car Imports Racing, IronCAD will design components for first-place racecars in two popular FIA racing categories.

American Car Imports Racing is the only car outside the United States to achieve a 270 mph terminal speed and Wilson’s team holds track records at four of the five FIA racetracks. A visit to the United States in 2004 made American Car Imports Racing the first European winners of a National Hot Rod Association Lucas Oil Divisional event when they won at Tucson in 2004. Wilson and his team now prepare for FIA’s 2007 season at the Dave Wilson Racing Workshops in Farnborough Hampshire of the United Kingdom.
