IronCAD’s TEAMVAULT Enhances AutoCAD® Support

New AutoCAD Client Enables Engineering Document Management for AutoCAD Community

ATLANTA, GA., March 19, 2002—IronCAD, LLC, the innovative and collaboration design solutions company, announced today the immediate availability of its newly introduced AutoCAD Client, the latest of a planned series of Clients to integrate TEAMVAULT to multiple design systems. It is the perfect solution for every AutoCAD user who wants to improve how they locate, manage and share design information with others. The combination of TEAMVAULT and the AutoCAD Client creates an easy-to-use, productive environment without all the management headaches associated with traditional technical document management systems.

The AutoCAD Client is the latest in a series of Clients currently under development that allow access to TEAMVAULT directly from within today’s leading design applications. The AutoCAD Client provides the following key capabilities:

• Ease-of-use – From installation all the way through to using the product is extremely user friendly. Client functionality can be accessed directly from within AutoCAD via a standard menu and/or toolbar making it intuitive even for the first time user.
• Secure Access – The Client communicates with TEAMVAULT to verify a user before allowing them access file information. It allows the right people to access the right information at the right time.
• Centralized File Storage - The Client allows files to be uploaded to a secure storage location where they are immediately available to other authorized users of TEAMVAULT.
• File Management – Through the Client, a user can confidently check files in and out knowing that other members of the design team will be immediately updated to the current state of the files.
• Linked File (Xref) Management – The Client manages linked file connectivity when uploading files to and from TEAMVAULT. The Client can maintain that connectivity even if the file is renamed or moved to a new location within TEAMVAULT.
• Automatic Revisioning – Through interaction with TEAMVAULT, the Client provides automatic revisioning of drawings checked into TEAMVAULT using AutoCAD.
• Dynamic Change Update – The Client allows a user to update any file(s) currently open in AutoCAD to the latest version available in TEAMVAULT.
• Design Data Capture - Configuration and customization tools are available to specify what design specific information is to be extracted by the Client during the file upload process and stored within TEAMVAULT. Search tools can access this stored information as part of a user generated query.
• Alternate Web Based Client – The user has the option to access TEAMVAULT through the AutoCAD Client or thru a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer when AutoCAD is not available. Through the web based client the user can take advantage of all the other Engineering Document Management tools provided by TEAMVAULT.

The AutoCAD client is currently being evaluated by a number of leading companies and partners worldwide. The response has been extremely positive.
