IronCAD Signs ESI-Group as a Solution Partner to extend Simulation Based Design
Simulation-Base Design Shortens the Design Cycle by empowering Engineers to perform Computational Fluid Dynamics up front
ATLANTA, GA. April 15, 2006 - IronCAD, a leading provider of 3D Design Productivity Solutions announced today that it has signed a Solution Partner agreement with ESI Group, an international provider of engineering solution software to provide Simulation-Based Design. ESI Group’s CFD-CADalyzer, a Coupled Design Analysis tool for CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) in the CAE Marketplace, extends Simulation-Based Design capabilities for IronCAD customers worldwide.
CFD is used by designers and engineers in the fields of electronics cooling, heat transfer, aerodynamics, HVAC, and many other applications. Product designers and engineers can use CFD-CADalyzer to dynamically improve their designs, providing and supporting multiple iterations in the design loop before prototyping. IronCAD’s design flexibility for allowing changes and multiple iterations provides a perfect fit for users wanting to perform CFD analysis in the design using the CFD-CADalyzer.
“CFD-CADalyzer is intuitive, easy to use software, and provides a level of functionality that is comparable to high-end CFD products. Designers not experienced in traditional CFD can use CFD-CADalyzer while still in the initial design phase to obtain flow simulation results,” says Don Gillikin, Senior Business Development Manager for CFD-CADalyzer. “Combining this with IronCAD’s unprecedented flexibility for working with 3D models in the conceptualization phase, allows quick iterations between the design /analysis/change paridigm, thus shortening the overall Design Cycle Time.”
“We are glad to offer extend Simulation-Based Design capabilities through this partnership with ESI Group to our customers” says Frank Hood, IronCAD’s North American Sales Manager. “Using this solution– companies can reduce costly prototypes and can realize an increase in productivity and reduction in costs – both very important in today’s world.”

About ESI Group
ESI Group is a world-leading supplier, and a pioneer of digital simulation software for prototyping and manufacturing processes that take into account the physics of materials. ESI Group has developed an extensive suite of coherent, industry oriented applications to realistically simulate a product’s behavior during testing, to fine-tune manufacturing processes in accordance with desired product performance, and evaluate the environment’s impact on product performance. ESI Group’s products, which have a proven track record in manufacturing and have been combined in multi-trade value chains, represent a unique collaborative and open virtual engineering solution known as the Virtual Try-Out Space (VTOS), enabling virtual prototypes to be improved in a continuous manner. This integrated protocol allows all the company’s solutions to work with each other and with solutions developed by other extended enterprise suppliers. By significantly reducing costs and development lead times, VTOS solutions offer major competitive advantage by progressively eliminating the need for physical prototypes. The company generated sales of €62m in 2005, employs over 500 high-level specialists worldwide covering more than 30 countries. ESI Group is listed in Eurolist compartment C of Euronext Paris.
