IronCAD, LLC Releases IronCAD 6.0

IronCAD 6 provides faster and easier ways to create 3D assemblies

ATLANTA, GA., February 12, 2003 — IronCAD, LLC, the Innovative Design Solutions Company, today announced the immediate availability of IronCAD 6.0, the latest release of this award winning product noted for its ease-of-use and exceptional 3D design productivity. IronCAD 6 was conceived to be a clear alternative for users who want to have the freedom to design without having to have the end in sight. The preferred solution for users who are looking for more productive ways to create their designs without the problems associated with parent child constraint relationships imposed by today’s leading CAD systems. Simply put IronCAD 6 provides "The Fastest and Easiest Way to 3D" for new and experienced users alike.

IronCAD Version 6 is the third major release of the product since IronCAD, LLC became an independent company in 2001. One key enhancement area of this release is the software's ability to create and handle freeform surfaces. Additional surface types have been added such as ruled, mesh, two rail sweep, loft and edge, all of which can be created directly from existing solid model edges, newly created 3D curves or imported wire-frame models. Surfaces can be standalone or integrated as part of a solid model history and edited as required. Other key enhancement areas include 2D drawing creation and the user interface, where changes have been made to accelerate the whole model creation process, especially in the area of assembly design.

Version 6 has been well received by the existing IronCAD user community; take for instance Dave Sulli, Manufacturing Engineer of R&D Industries, who told us, "the IronCAD team has expanded the inherently-efficient features of IronCAD to create very impressive "ease-of-use" additions to one of the most versatile MCAD programs in the world. Thanks for listening to your customers regarding enhancement and usability requests."  Dr. Beat Ludin of Life Imaging Services, GmbH. further adds. "IronCAD 6 is a big step forward. The new surface modeling functions are great."

"After talking with a number of 3D software users it became apparent that there is a high level of dissatisfaction with the way today's leading CAD systems restrict creativity through the mandated use of assembly and part feature constraints," explains Shaun Murphy, VP of Marketing at IronCAD, LLC. "All the new features in IronCAD Version 6 reflect our commitment to removing those restrictions as well as providing a faster and easier way to create 3D designs."

IronCAD's award winning technology provides the foundation for InnovationSuite, a fully integrated design and information management environment that encourages creativity, productivity and teamwork. It enables small-to-medium sized manufacturers and engineering teams to develop products more quickly, at higher quality standards and lower cost. InnovationSuite was developed to be the most cost effective, flexible and easiest to learn and use design, collaboration and communication environment on the market. InnovationSuite components include TeamVault for Engineering Data Management, Inovate for 3D design, collaboration and communication and IronCAD for production solid modeling and detail design.

IronCAD 6.0 and other InnovationSuite components will begin shipping to customers February, 2003. For a more complete view of the exciting new features within Version 6, please visit the IronCAD website at www.ironcad.com.
