The Challenge:
When Julio C. Banks, Senior Advanced Analyst, was faced with a challenging engineering problem recently, he chose IronCAD as his primary tool for solving it. The problem: a 20-piece manufacturing run of expensive turbojet engine hubs ($15,000 each) was improperly processed. Rather than scrap the parts, Julio was tasked with determining whether the parts could be modified and salvaged.

IronCAD the Productivity Solution:
IronCAD's Design Flow architecture enabled Julio to make design changes and iterations easily, without having to fight with the constraint systems which entangle most traditional CAD systems.

Summary

  • After several iterations, I found a satisfactory solution to the problem.
  • We were able to salvage the parts for a savings of $300,000.
  • IronCAD played a key role in reaching a successful solution.

"IronCAD allowed me to spend more time on the engineering problem itself, rather than learning how the solid modeling software works." - Julio C. Banks, P.E.
