The Challenge:
CAD system selection was based on the following goals: decrease time-to-market from concept to production and the reduction of errors due to 2D limitations and lack of 3D/2D association. These goals had to be met while facing the challenge of designing products and fixtures using a wide variety of processes that include casting (plastics and metals), machining (waterjet, laser, EDM, and conventional), and injection molding while complying with ISO 9000 guidelines.

IronCAD the Productivity Solution:
IronCAD's unsurpassed ease-of-use as a design and visualization tool has become invaluable. Little-to-no formal training was required to introduce IronCAD as a highly effective tool for production and manufacturing design and development.

Summary
Provide Purchasing and other departments the means to communicate designs
electronically as PDF and CAD neutral files, saving time and eliminating
confusion/errors due to unclear facsimile copies.
Provide superior graphical representation to inter-departmental
personnel, as well as existing and potential external customers.
Reduce costs associated with physical
trial and error methods normally used to perfect new concepts.

"Most MCAD programs hinder creativity
by incorporating far too many constraints, requiring
time-consuming steps that are often not required when using
IronCAD. In addition, IronCAD has always included every type of
tool a company would normally require; modeling, photo realistic
rendering, and even animation, whereas other programs have
traditionally required costly add-ons." -Dave Sulli,
Manufacturing Engineer, RD Instruments
