IronCAD Sponsored Super Car Gains Top Honors Australian Company Carbontech designs Redback Spyder in record time thanks to IronCAD
ATLANTA, GA. June 4th, 2004 – IronCAD the Innovative Design Collaboration Solutions Company is proud to announce their sponsorship of automotive super car builder Carbontech. The Carbontech team based out of Melbourne Australia specializes in taking the latest in racing technology and transforming it into a super fast street legal super car. Their latest creative effort the Redback Spyder can best be described as a street legal formula one racing car with a top speed of over 250 mph. Since the concept cars first showing last year at the Melbourne Motor Show, in Australia it has been winning fans around the world. Beyond its awesome power and its aggressive styling what makes this car stand out is the speed at which it was developed. The whole project from concept to delivering the first car (due in August this year) was only 19 months. Projects of this magnitude are usually measured in years not months. A time reduction that is directly attributable to the use of solid modeling technology, mainly IronCAD. IronCAD played a key role in the success of the Redback Spyder project through all its
phases. Once the IronCAD design was completed, IronCAD’s modeling and rendering capabilities played a vital
role in obtaining the support of some of the automotive industry’s top players. Once the manufacturing phase
started, the visual quality and accuracy of the IronCAD models enabled parts to be manufactured right the
first time. In the production phase IronCAD’s models provided a full build history of the car which turned
into ready made shop floor assembly instructions. “People have to realize that the professionalism of the IronCAD program and the ease of use have allowed us to establish relationships with the top manufacturers in the automotive industry”, says Mill Conroy and Nick Tomkinson, Partners, Carbontech USA. “Industry interest in the Redback Spyder project has been unbelievable. We have been selected to be the pace vehicle for the Vintage Automobile Racing Association. VARA is the leading vintage racing association in the Western United States. We have been asked to be the pace vehicle at California Motor Speedway for the upcoming VARA events and the American LeMans Series event. We have been asked by Eaton to be the lead vehicle for the Woodward Cruise in August in Pontiac, Michigan. Eaton is the prime sponsor for this, which is the largest street rod event in North America, which annually draws over a million people during the week; we will be the feature vehicle in their block long booth. We have been asked to be the feature in the Harmann International booth at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas as the Harmann group is the designer of the sound system for the Redback. Harmann International owns the JBL, Harmon Kardon, Becker, Infinity and Mark Levinson brands of audio equipment. As you can see, I can not say enough about how IronCAD has been instrumental in our acquiring the invites and services of the top events and companies in the automotive industry.” “IronCAD’s Creative Design Methodology is the fastest way to turn creative ideas into 3D reality. The speed at which Carbontech was able to complete the design project was not a total surprise, we have heard similar statements from many other IronCAD users”, says Shaun Murphy, IronCAD’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “What really excited us was to see this fully manufacturable car design built from top to bottom using IronCAD, it confirmed to us the power of IronCAD and that IronCAD truly is The Fastest and Easiest Way to 3D.” About IronCAD About Carbontech
