IronCAD Carline Add-On to be Included in Version 9.0 Unique Tool Simplifies Assembly Line Layout Design ATLANTA, GA. July 07, 2006 – IronCAD today announced Carline, its latest add-on for automotive assembly line designers is available as a built-in feature for version 9.0. Featured in the add-on are Carline, Reference Line, and Check Sheet commands that simplify the jig and fixture documentation process for designers by bringing standard assembly line design capabilities into 3D CAD design. Jigs and fixtures are part-holding tools used in automotive assembly lines. These units are placed using the World Coordinate System, which is relative to the assembly line’s start. “IronCAD’s Carline add-on is the most robust system for jig designers,” says Dae-Yong Sung General Manager of Changil Precision’s Engineering Division, “Before Carline, jig designers used inefficient workarounds to solve MCAD software limitations,” he continued. Most MCAD software bases distance on part and edge separation. This does not follow World Coordinate System format - making it difficult for jig designers to gauge distance from the assembly line’s start. IronCAD’s Carline add-on allows jig designers to model using the World Coordinate System. The add-on also includes Reference Line creations to support jig and fixture documentation when the assembly is based in a rotated coordinate system. Check Sheet is another add-on feature, which gathers checkpoint information from the 3D environment for transfer into a predefined excel templates. The coordinates of that checkpoint are automatically transferred into the appropriate fields. These capabilities make IronCAD’s Carline system more intuitive than other tools and an important addition to IronCAD’s existing library of industry-specific tools. About IronCAD
