R&R's FixtureBuilder Receives IronCAD's Highest Certification New RAYCO CMM fixturing solution enabled through IronCAD technology Grand Haven, MI. Sept 30th, 2004 – R&R Sales the leader in CMM (coordinate measuring machine) fixturing announced that its new FixtureBuilder 2.0 software release has received IronCAD's highest level of partner certification, that of Integrated Solution Partner for use with IronCAD and Inovate 7.0. FixtureBuilder is a new 3D fixture modeling add-on software product from R&R that is fully integrated with the CAD software from IronCAD. FixtureBuilder creates Rayco fixture set-ups for both documenting and offline programming. To operate the software a user simply has to drag and snap fixture components from the tabbed catalogs onto the target plate. IronCAD’s SmartSnap Assembly™ technology automatically aligns the components to the plate while displaying its X and Y hole location for easier positioning. The parts to be fixtured can be imported directly into the software using one of a comprehensive set of CAD formats including IGES, STEP, Pro/E, CATIA, ACIS, Parasolid, STL and others. Once the fixture setup is completed FixtureBuilder requires just a single mouse click to create a complete bill of materials list and set-up instructions complete with preview images. To enable offline programming FixtureBuilder can export the complete set-up including both the part and the fixtures to the programming software of the desired CMM machine. FixtureBuilder is available for both of IronCAD's design solutions, from its full standalone CAD system, IronCAD or Inovate, a low cost, easy to use 3D desktop product for creating, modifying, interrogating and communicating 3D designs. FixtureBuilder makes creating fixtures a snap! Shaun Murphy, IronCAD's Vice President of Sales and
Marketing follows that up by stating, “FixtureBuilder is one of a new breed of
design solutions that are tailored to a specific industry. This
specialization delivers a level of productivity that a general purpose solution
could never provide. Tomorrows winning solutions will be the ones that can
encapsulate the vertical application knowledge of a specific industry in a way
that does not require the level of training common with today's general purpose
CAD tools.” About IronCAD
