Importing ACIS, PARASOLID, STEP, CATIA, UGS, and PRO/E Files

Aside from the general procedures, no additional details are necessary to import a part from these formats.  The only import option available is the file name.  It is important to note, however, that only part files can be imported from standard Pro/E import option.

NOTE:  ACIS files will remain .sat files on import, even if the default kernel is set to Parasolid.

Only Catia V4 part files can be imported with the included Catia Translator. (Catia V5 add-on translator can support Part and Assembly versions R2 through R20 if add-on has been purchased)

Only Pro/E files < Rev. 20 can be imported (without the Granite Import Translator). If the Pro/E translator Add-on is purchased, support up to Pro/E Wildfire 5.0 is available. Also, Pro/E import has additional support to import multiple bodies if the original file contains this information. On the Import Options, select the option to allow for this support.

UG add-on support can be purchased to support import of versions 11 to 18 and versions NX1 through NX7.
