Exporting

Following is a procedure for exporting a part, an assembly, or all the parts in the scene.  These generic instructions apply to exporting parts in any supported format.

To export a part, an assembly, or all the parts in a scene:

1. If necessary, open the file containing the item(s) to export.

2. Select the desired part/assembly in the scene to export or deselect all to export the scene (if supported by the desired export format).

3. From the File menu, select Export and then Export Part .
   Optional: When the part/assembly is selected, right-click and select Export from the pop-up menu options.

4. The Export File dialog box appears.

5. Select the desired destination folder for the exported file.

6. Enter a name for the exported file in the File name field.

7. Open the drop-down list in the Save as type field and select a format for the exported file.

8. Select Save to export the part or assembly to a file.

Depending on your file format selection, a dialog box may be displayed allowing you to specify export options. At this point, you can open the exported file in the appropriate application.
